The Story of My Life, by John SSenfuma

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long-lost friend, or even a complete strangers) but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in a positive way.

The story of my life begins in a small village in Mityana District on the 8th, August 2002 after the death of my mother on the same date at birth. I spent the first 5 years of my childhood in the village with my grandmother not studying since life wasn’t okay financially. And in 2008 my grandma brought me to Kampala in Kawempe Division to Aunt’s place so that I can start studying, so my aunt knew my father’s place so she took me to his father’s house “grandpa Late Mr. Bwete Nsubuga ” and introduced me to him that am his grandson and he welcomed me . So I spent some few weeks with grandpa and he decided to take me to school to start studying.

My precious school life started when my grandpa enrolled me in a school for the first time in 2008 through things weren’t financially okay. My school name was Holy Family Nursery and primary school which is located in kawempe along Bombo Road. I passed through hard times to reach school since I used to walk a long distance for classes, had issues with school fees so I could spend days off school. So one night grandpa informed me that am going to another School in Boarding Section that her very best Friend Late Sister Nazziwa Annet who was our Head Mistress by then got me a full scholarship for my academics in “MAKULA FAMILY” that I shouldn’t worry any more about walking a long distance, scholastic materials and school fees, I was very happy that I was going to a boarding school that I even couldn’t sleep that night thinking about it the all night.

In 2013 I joined Jinja Karoli Primary school in Primary four very relaxed and concentrating on my studies since I had no worries about anything concerning school dues till primary seven when I completed my primary level. After my primary level in 2016 then I joined my secondary level at Gaba Mixed High School located in KAWUKU for my academics in senior one to senior four but in 2020 Sister Nazziwa Annet died so my grandpa had the announcement on CBS radio since it was covid times and said I should go confirm if it’s true, so the following day after confirming him about the death of Sister he also died on the following day so life became hard since I was left alone and in a Candidate class but I still had to continue with school and I finalized my O level and passed my exams. So I had to join an institute for a course to manage the situation since I couldn’t go back for HS level.

In 2022 I finally joined YMCA Comprehensive Institute located in wandegeya kampala District the best institute in kampala for computer science with no worries about any school dues and in 2024 I finally graduated with a certificate. Thank you MAKULA FAMILY for being an immense source for my strength and courage for me during this phase I can’t thank you enough for ensuring I finish my education without any hurdles. No words can extremely express how happy and honored to have received a scholarship for my education.

“THANK YOU MAKULA FAMILY”
